Movies about animals are not always based on fiction. Sometimes they are based on real stories. We bring to your attention 10 films about animals based on real events.

In 1958, Japanese explorers were forced to urgently leave the polar wintering, but they could not take the dogs. No one hoped that the dogs would be able to survive. In the Japanese city of Osaka, to honor the memory of four-legged animals, a monument was erected to them. Not far from Tokyo is Shabuya station, which is decorated with a monument to the dog Hachiko. For 10 years, the dog came to the platform to meet the owner, who died in a Tokyo hospital. The Americans again transferred the real story to their native soil and to the modern world, creating the film “Hachiko”.

History of the favorite

This film is based on the story of America’s favorite thoroughbred riding stallion Seabiscuit. In 1938, at the height of the Great Depression, this horse won the Horse of the Year title and became a symbol of hope.
